Coming Soon to Maternal Wellbeing

Helpful Resources for Motherhood

At maternalwellbeing.ca, we aim to be your trusted source for all things related to motherhood. Our platform will soon offer a variety of resources, including informative articles, expert interviews, and tips for navigating the challenges of motherhood. Join us as we embark on this exciting journey together.

Interpersonal Therapy Resources

Interpersonal Therapy is a type of counseling that looks at how our relationships and life changes affect the way we feel. The goal is to understand patterns in how we connect with others, work through challenges like conflict or loss, and build healthier ways of relating. In the group, you’ll have a supportive space to share, listen, and practice new skills alongside others who may be facing similar experiences. Dr. Hickey runs a number of postpartum and ongoing (long-term) interpersonal therapy groups.

Circle of Security Resources

Circle of Security is a relationship-based program that helps parents and caregivers better understand their child’s emotional needs and build a stronger, more secure bond. The approach focuses on recognizing a child’s signals, supporting their exploration and independence, and providing comfort when they need to come back for safety. In the group, you’ll learn practical ways to respond to your child’s needs while also feeling supported by other parents who are navigating similar challenges.

Relationships and Couples

Every relationship has its ups and downs, and it’s normal to face challenges along the way. These resources are meant to help you and your partner strengthen your bond, communicate more openly, and better understand each other’s needs. Drawing on approaches like Emotion-Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method, the focus is on building connection, creating safety in the relationship, and finding ways to support one another through both everyday stresses and meaningful life changes. Whether you’re hoping to feel closer, improve how you talk through disagreements, or simply nurture the relationship you already value, these tools are here to offer guidance and encouragement.

More Resources

Resources on neurobiology, trauma-informed care, mind maps, and more. These materials are designed to make the science of the brain and emotions easier to understand and apply in everyday life. You’ll find simple explanations of how stress and trauma affect the body, tools for building safety and regulation, and visual mind maps that organize ideas in clear, memorable ways. The goal is to give you knowledge that feels empowering rather than overwhelming — so you can better understand yourself, make sense of your experiences, and explore new ways of caring for your wellbeing.
